JESSICA POPE

Growing up in a family of skilled artisans, Pope was exposed to various crafts from an early age. She spent time with her grandmother sewing quilts, while her great-grandmother taught her to crochet and knit. The men in her family were talented woodworkers and tinkerers who enjoyed constructing (and disassembling!) just about anything. Her mother, a talented painter, imparted valuable knowledge about how to repurpose old objects and breathe new life into them.

After graduating from high school in Boise, Idaho, she moved to Savannah, Georgia, to attend the Savannah College of Art & Design in 2001. During her time there, she refined her passion for craft, focusing specifically on Fibers and Printmaking.

For the past twenty years, she has focused on utilizing salvaged, rejected, and reconstructed components in her creative process, to produce works that have been exhibited at The Jepson Museum and Kobo Galleries in Savannah. Her commissioned works are included in various private collections around the country. She currently operates Good Grand Great Wonderful, where she creates handmade personal accessories and home décor products.
